KVK Namsai: Armed Forces trained as Green Forces.

KVK Namsai successfully imparted 2 days sensitization programme specially designed for army personnel on livestock based farming system with this objective that a man who stood for the nation during his military service now he may stands for his village and villagers to empower in farming. He may also play a role of farming ambassador to transfer the improve agri & allied technologies into respective area of duty and also the native place where he may help them to achieve the food security.  At the very outset, Dr. Manish Kanwat, Head KVK, Namsai explained the need and importance of the programme for the welfare of soldier during service and post retirement. The objective of the event was to impart the technical knowledge on livestock based farming system to army personnel so that, a soldier can also serve as instructor in his village and inspire to the community by adopting new scientific technologies to make his venture highly profitable.  In the continuation, Chief Guest Col. Vikram Nalawade, 20th Madras Regiment, Gunanagar, Namsai encouraged the soldiers to harness the opportunity to become skilled in the respective area of livestock from the KVK scientists. He also assure that army soldier may play a vital role in transmitting the scientific knowledge to the different corners of the society and areas.

Guest of Honour, Col (Dr.) Ivan Singh, 166 Infantry battalion, Assam also motivates the gathering and emphasized that such type of initiatives would surely help to the army personnel to start their own income generating activities with scientific touch and achieve the economic prosperity. 

Special Guest Mr. SK Jawal, ADF, Namsai also explained the importance and scope of integrated farming system in generating the income round the year. Under the technical session, Goat, Pig, Poultry, Duckery and its integration covered by Dr. BKD Borah, Dr. D Sasmal and Dr. Santosh Kumar, SMSs KVK, Namsai. Total 25 soldier from 20 Madras Regiment and 166 Infantry Battalion, Assam Rifles, Lathao participated in the programme.
